Specialised IV EDTA Chelation Therapy

Intravenous EDTA Chelation therapy (or just Chelation Therapy) is an in-office procedure that slowly increases circulation by non-surgically reducing plaque in arteries and binds heavy metals, eliminating them from the system over time. This intravenous treatment has been safely used for over 60 years and has become well known through such books as “Bypassing Bypass Surgery” by Elmer Cranton, MD.

IV EDTA Chelation Therapy treats these conditions and more:

  • Coronary Artery Disease (CAD). Helps to remove plaque from arteries supplying the myocardium (heart muscle) helping to prevent heart attack.

  • Angina. Studies show decreases in the severity and frequency of anginal episodes, reduced use of nitro, increased work capacity and improved electrocardiogram findings.

  • Atherosclerosis (“hardening of the arteries”). IV EDTA makes blood vessels more flexible, removes hardening mineral deposits from blood vessels and releases nitric oxide causing vasodilation.

  • Heavy Metal Toxicity. Pulls lead, cadmium, aluminum and other toxic metals from the body, reducing oxidative stress.

  • Elevated Cholesterol.

  • Prevention of limb amputation.

  • Diabetes. IV EDTA Chelation Therapy can help to lower blood sugar and increases circulation in small vessels, important for prevention and treatment of diabetic vascular complications including gangrene, skin ulcers, heart attack, blindness and kidney failure.

  • High Blood Pressure. Removes lead, which can cause hypertension, from blood and extracellular fluids. IV EDTA Chelation Therapy, along with B vitamins in the infusion, releases nitric oxide in the blood causing vasodilation and reducing heart load.

  • Autism. Clinically, I have not seen a better natural product or drug that can improve eye contact, verbalization, expression of independent thoughts and reduce restlessness in autistic children like IV EDTA chelation therapy can.

  • Heart Arrhythmias.

  • TIA.

  • Schizophrenia.

  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Toxic heavy metals can cause CFS. With their elimination and improvement in arterial circulation CFS sufferers improve dramatically.

  • Fibromyalgia (FMS). One of my cured cases of Fibromyalgia was due to lead toxicity. With chelation, the patient, several years later, remains free of FMS symptoms.

  • Cancer. Lung, skin and pancreatic cancers have been linked to heavy metal exposure.

  • Chronic Renal Insufficiency.

  • Peripheral Vascular Disease.

  • Raynaud’s Disease (coldness of hands and feet due to poor circulation).

  • Gangrene.

  • Buerger’s Disease (inflammation and clotting of arteries primarily from smoking).

  • Alzheimer’s Disease. Removes beta-amyloid plaques and EDTA can improve or slow the progression of Alzheimer’s Disease.

  • Scleroderma.

How does I.V. EDTA chelation therapy work?

Chelation treatments increase circulation and rid the body of toxic heavy metals. An impressive body of peer-reviewed, published controlled human trials have demonstrated a significant impact from I.V. EDTA therapy among individuals with established vascular and/or heart disease.

Action of I.V. EDTA therapy:

  • Non-surgically removes plaque, helping to reduce the risk of heart attack. Over half the dry weight of plaque is calcium which, during chelation therapy treatments, is bound by EDTA and removed over a series of treatments.

  • Provides antioxidant protection.

  • Increases arterial wall compliance.

  • Improves hemodynamics.

  • Removes buildup of potentially toxic trace minerals that accumulate in diseased myocardium and in beta-amyloid plaques in Alzheimer’s patients.

  • Binds toxic heavy metals, including lead, cadmium and aluminum and removes them via urinary excretion.

  • Reduces clots, lowering the risk of stroke and heart attack.

  • Increases production of nitric oxide, a vasodilator.

Improvements with I.V. EDTA chelation therapy:

In a 2007 study by Chappell it was estimated that IV EDTA chelation therapy had prevented 15 heart attacks, 6 deaths, 16 bypasses and 31 angioplasties with 220 patients with coronary artery disease.

In the study, the group treated with angioplasty and stent followed by I.V. EDTA therapy had less repeat angioplasty (4%) and stent placement (0%) than the group that had the surgeries alone (repeat angioplasty: 22.3%, repeat bypass: 11.8%). The IV EDTA therapy group had no heart attacks or death.68.7% had complete resolution of symptoms.

In another study, 65 patients on the waiting list for bypass surgery were treated with IV EDTA chelation therapy.Symptoms in 89% of patients improved so much they were able to cancel their bypass surgery. As well, of 27 patients recommended for limb amputation due to poor peripheral circulation, IV EDTA chelation therapy resulted in saving 24 limbs.

Patients will commonly experience improvements in memory, energy, chest pain, walking distance and shortness of breath with IV EDTA chelation therapy administration.

Is I.V. EDTA Chelation Therapy safe?

The safety of IV EDTA chelation therapy has been demonstrated in multiple studies and is on the FDA GRAS (Generally Regarded As Safe) list. No serious adverse events have been reported in the treatment of over one million patients receiving over 20 million IV EDTA chelation therapies per recommendations by the American College for Advancement in Medicine (ACAM).
